For Christmas, Santa brought my niece Allison a gift certificate to the American Girl Place for a doll. All the Swant/Rees girls went. We had so much fun (although I think I was in little girl heaven since there were only 3 American Girl dolls when I was growing up and there was definitely not a store!) Allison picked her doll, Lanie, and my niece Madi, borrowed my Felicity doll. We all then had lunch at the store and the dolls, of course, had their own seats!! I can't wait until Zoe is old enough to get her own doll!

Zoe started sitting up a few days after she turned 6 months. This picture is from a few weeks ago, when she first sat up. She is now a pro!!

Iron Chef: Swant vs Rees

 

 

 

 

For Christmas dinner, Justin and I competed in Iron Chef Battle Orange against Justin's sister, Nicole and her husband, Craig. We had such a great time and a really yummy dinner!! We each had to make an appetizer, entree with side dish, dessert and drink. Our menu: orange carrot ginger soup, lamb chops with an orange sauce and orange sweet potatoes, orange chocolate lava cake with orange whipped cream, and cranberry orange fizzie. Nicole and Craig's menu: coconut shrimp with orange sauce, orange glazed cornish game hens with orange risotto, orange cheesecake with oreo crust, and an orange julius. The judges were my parents, Justin's sister, Staci, and Justin's dad. However, they couldn't decide on a winner...we'll have to see who wins next year!

6 Months Old!!!!!!

 

 

 

 

Zoe turned 6 months old on Christmas Eve!! We can't believe how fast our baby is growing. She now weighs 15lbs and is 26 inches long. She is close to sitting up (but not quite ready yet!). She is quite the mover and is rolling and scooting all over the floor. She has also mastered the ability to grab everything within arms reach, which makes grocery shopping in the baby bjorn quite interesting!
